Suspect Wanted More Than Coffee

Salinas- Authorities with the Salinas Police Department are looking for a young man who is wanted in connection with a Friday morning robbery of a Starbucks manager.

On Friday morning at 10:09 a.m., a manager with Starbucks Coffee on North Davis Road was walking to her vehicle with a deposit to take to the bank.  She had reached her vehicle when a male dressed as a construction worker approached her.

He was armed with a black semi-auto handgun and demanded she give him the deposit bag.  She complied with his demands. The victim was able to describe the suspect to police.

She described him as being a 20-year-old white male; about 5’10” with a medium build. Besides wearing a reflective vest and dirty jeans, he was also seen wearing a red-and-white baseball cap.

“Businesses should vary their routines and never take the same route twice,” says Salinas Police Department spokesperson Officer Cabrera. “When confronted, a person should comply with their demands and become a better witness instead of trying to be a hero.”

He was seen running into the parking lot of a nearby Costco parking lot where he got into the driver’s seat of a brown Honda Civic.  He was last seen driving down Westridge Parkway then turning down Boronda Road.

An area check for the suspect or his vehicle was met with no results.  The Salinas Police Department has placed a “Be on the Lookout” (BOL) for the suspect to all local law enforcement agencies.

The Salinas Police Department is actively investigating this incident and is asking anyone with information about this incident or if they saw anyone or anything to call the Salinas Police Department at (831) 775-4222.
