Minor Raped at Knifepoint, Acquaintance Arrested

After a four-day search, Lodi police arrested 44-year-old John Ganoe, a registered sex offender, on charges of raping a minor at knifepoint.

Ganoe allegedly lured a 13-year-old girl who was an acquaintance of his into a hotel room in the 800 block of Cherokee Lane. Once inside the room, it is reported that Ganoe raped the girl at knifepoint, holding her there overnight.

Working with Stockton Police and U.S. Marshals, the Lodi police arrested Ganoe in Stockton four days after the incident.

The suspect is being held at the Lodi jail on charges of rape, lewd acts with a minor, oral copulation, terrorist threats, sodomy and threats with a weapon. His bail has been set at $450,000.
