Santa Maria Men Arrested for Alleged Mother’s Day Carjacking

SANTA MARIA –  Two men are behind bars after an alleged Mother’s Day carjacking near the intersection of Boone and Thornburg, according to the Police Department.

The male suspects allegedly approached the unidentified driver at gun point and stole the victim’s vehicle and some personal belongings just after 3:30 a.m. on Sunday, May 12.

Later that same day, officers located the stolen vehicle in an alley in the 1700 block of South Thornburg, less than two miles from where the alleged carjacking occurred, police said.

Santa Maria residents Daniel Reyes Arroyo, 22, and Victor Zurita Santos , 23, were contacted by police and arrested on suspicion of carjacking. Both men were booked at Santa Barbara County Jail.
