Man Arrested on Suspicion of Robbery, Vehicle Theft and Elder Abuse

Brandon Michael Calhoun, a 21-year-old Novato resident, was arrested Thursday morning on suspicion of robbery, vehicle theft and elder abuse—after the victim went to the police station to report him.

The victim, a 65-year-old woman whose name was withheld, went to the Novato Police Department to report that Calhoun—who lived with her—had assaulted, threatened and demanded money, said Novato police Sgt. Sasha D’Amico.

When the woman was unable to give Calhoun cash, he allegedly demanded her vehicle and held her against her will inside the residence.  He allegedly continued to threaten and assault her until he took the woman’s keys and took the vehcile, said police.
