Suisun city man arrested for alleged lewd act with minor

VACAVILLE – Robert Weldon Steeves, 31, of Suisun City was arrested early Friday morning and booked on felony charges of sex with a minor, lewd acts with a minor and probation violation.

Police attention was first drawn to the situation just before midnight on Thursday, when it was noted that a vehicle was parked in the lot of Eleanor Nelson Park. Among other reasons for suspicion, the park had been closed for several hours. Upon approaching the vehicle, police found a male and female inside engaged in sexual activity. The male occupant was Steeves, the female was later determined to be 15-years-old. Both stated the sex was consensual. According to the minor, she and Steeves had first come in contact relatively recently via Facebook, and had then met in person on several occasions. Steeves was booked into Solano County Jail.  The Vacaville police suggest that parents keep an eye on their minor children’s social media presence and contacts.
