Police Seek Public’s Help Investigating Fatal Hit-and-Run

SANTA MARIA – The Police Department is seeking the public’s help in an ongoing investigation into a fatal hit-and-run of a 35-year-old female that occurred over the Easter weekend.

Officers responded to a call of a person down by the side of the road in the area of Mahoney and Black Road just after 11:30 p.m. on Saturday, March 30. Upon arrival at the scene, they discovered a deceased female lying by the roadway.

Investigators believe the unidentified woman was struck by a vehicle traveling northbound on Mahoney Road, which then fled the area and continued traveling north, police said.

Police later identified  the victim as 35-year-old Stacia Parlanti.
