Sac Sheriff Arrests Homicide Suspect

Homicide detectives from the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Department have reportedly arrested a man in connection with the shooting death of a woman at an apartment complex in Foothill Farms this past Friday, according to an official press release.

Shoreem Bryant, 29, was reportedly taken into custody at a residence in Sacramento County at approximately 8:30 pm on Saturday, March 23, 2013. He is being held on charges of accessory to murder and a violation of his parole.

According to the Sheriff’s Department, on Friday, March 22, at approximately 1:30 pm, Sheriff’s deputies responded to the Cambridge Park apartments at 5800 Hamilton Street regarding gunshots being fired. Upon arrival, deputies discovered Deandra Horton, 30, dead at the scene from multiple gunshot wounds. A 31 year-old man who was also shot was taken to a hospital, and is expected to survive his injuries.

Detectives are reportedly still investigating the events that led to this incident, which may involve additional suspects who have yet to be identified. Anyone with information pertinent to this case is asked to contact the Sheriff’s Homicide Bureau at (916) 874-5115.

Due to the ongoing nature of the investigation, a booking photograph for Bryant is not being released at this time.
