Santa Maria Man Robbed, Held Against Will

SANTA MARIA – An unidentified male was allegedly kidnapped, threatened with a weapon and robbed before his weekend even started, according to the Police Department.

Jose Arredondo, 19

The 33-year-old victim, whose name police aren’t releasing, was taken to a home on the north side of the city sometime on Friday, February 8, where he was robbed of his personal property and held against his will. He was later allegedly forced into a vehicle by the three suspects, who threatened him with a weapon when he tried to escape, police said.

The three suspects eventually dropped the victim off just before 7:30 p.m. in the 2000 block of North Western, where he contacted law enforcement.

Juan Hilario, 22

The police located two of the suspects, Jose Arredondo, 19, and Annabel Hilario, 20, driving around Santa Maria in the same vehicle they allegedly forced the victim into. They were arrested without incident and booked in the Santa Barbara County Jail on suspicion of kidnapping, robbery and false imprisonment, police said.

Officers later served a search warrant at a residence in Santa Maria, where they located the third suspect, Juan Hilario,  22, who was also arrested and booked into Santa Barbara County Jail on charges of kidnapping, robbery and false imprisonment. All three suspects also face charges of gang enhancement connected to the incident.
