Ian Clark, 20, was reportedly arrested at the Rio Cosumnes Correctional Center, on Thursday, January 17, for felony charges of robbery, sexual battery, assault with a deadly weapon, and assault with the intent to commit rape. Clark was already in custody, having been arrested on July 27, 2012, for unrelated charges of auto theft and felony evasion of a peace officer.

According to the Sheriff’s Department, evidence from the scene ultimately linked Clark to the attack, where reportedly a female adult walking along the Arcade Creek nature trail near American River College was grabbed from behind and choked by a man who held a knife to her and conveyed an intention to rape and kill her. The victim reportedly struggled with the suspect and was able to break free. The suspect then fled the scene on a bicycle.
