Attorney Arrested on Child Pornography Charges

CLOVIS – An attorney practicing out of Fresno was arrested after police discovered images and videos of young children depicted in sexual manners in his home.

Kenneth Cavin

Detectives arrested 57-year-old Kenneth Cavin yesterday at Fowler and Tollhouse avenues in Clovis, not far from his home.

The Clovis Police Department had previously served a search warrant at Cavin’s home and seized a lot of evidence, including hard drives full of images of young children being sexually abused. Detectives also found videos of children, lewd child modeling, obscene cartoon images of kids, stories about children being molested, and videos of children, according to authorities.

Clovis police spokesperson, Janet Stoll-Lee, said the images were very disturbing, but unfortunately the detectives still had to look through all the photos and videos because it’s their job. She said most of the images were downloaded from the internet.

One of the children in the photographs was identified by the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children.

The Fresno County District Attorney’s Office issued the warrant for Cavin’s arrest yesterday on charges of possession of child pornography. Clovis detectives forwarded the case to the U.S. Attorney’s Office. Cavin could be facing federal charges.

Cavin’s law practice is located in Fresno on the corner of Shaw and Palm avenues.

According to his website, Cavin specializes in family law. He has been practicing law since 1993 and has no public record of discipline, according to the California Bar.

Cavin was released from jail yesterday on $2,500 bond.
