Explosion Exposes Drug Lab
A gas explosion in Morro Bay has led the local police to the discovery of a drug lab.
800 Block of Napa Avenue
According to MBPD, officers responded on Wednesday afternoon to a gas explosion, which exposed a drug lab that was manufacturing hash oil. Along with the discovery of a drug lab, officers found a man who had been injured during the explosion.
Officers believe the explosion occurred on the 800 block of Napa Avenue around 4:30 p.m of Wednesday afternoon.
Police say the injured man had been burned during the explosion and that he is currently being treated at a Fresno burn center. His name is being withheld at this time.
Liquefied butane was being used to get resin from the marijuana, leading investigators to believe the butane gas sank to the floor and was ignited.
It is unknown at this moment how much property has been damaged or what charges will be filed.
