Husband Arrested for Wife’s Murder in Sanger

SANGER – A Sanger man was arrested on Monday after police convinced him to turn himself in for his wife’s murder over the weekend.

Keith Beyer

The Sanger Police Department got a call on Sunday around 9 a.m. telling the police to check out a residence because there was possibly someone injured inside an apartment located at 928 L Street.

“When our officers arrived, they entered the residence and found a deceased woman,” said Sgt. Greg Vasquez with the Sanger Police Department.

The coroner’s office later identified the woman as 41-year-old Sandra Beyer, but did not release information about how she died. Police did say that they found evidence of foul play at the scene and immediately ruled the death a homicide.

Authorities were initially unable to locate Beyer’s husband, 35-year-old Keith Beyer, who was not at the apartment when police arrived. Police were able to locate him on Monday afternoon in the Shaver Lake area. With the help of the Fresno County Sheriff’s Office, California Highway Patrol and the U.S. Forest Service, Sanger police were able to negotiate with Beyer to turn himself in for his wife’s murder.

Police have not revealed what led them to believe Beyer was a suspect in his wife’s murder or what motive may have been behind the crime. Family members have told media outlets that the Beyers’ marriage had problems and the two had been fighting the night before Sandra Beyer was killed.
