Armed Robber Arrested

GROVER BEACH – An armed robber was arrested by Grover Beach Police on Wednesday after he allegedly held up the Pocket Book Market.

According to GBPD, officers responded around 8:29 a.m. to the Pocket Book Market located at 294 North 4th Street for a report of a robbery that had just occurred.

Police say the store clerks were forced to the rear of the store where they waited while the suspect removed the money from the cash register.

Witnesses told police the suspect was described as a white male adult with blonde hair and wearing a blue hooded sweat shirt.

Police say the suspect was later contacted in the 600 block of West Grand Avenue.

Following a brief foot pursuit he was detained and identified as Garett Michael Davis of Arroyo Grande.

Davis had in his possession a mace container that was used in the robbery and $181.00 that was taken from the business.

The stolen money was recovered and returned to the business.

Davis was arrested and booked at San Luis County Jail for robbery, kidnapping and resisting arrest.
