According to SLOPD, a 17-year-old woman was walking home about 7:15 p.m. and had taken a short cut through the Laguna Lake Golf Course located at 11175 Los Osos Valley Road.

Police say while walking on the golf course the female was approached and followed by the suspect, a white male described as 5”9” in his late 20’s or early 30’s.

The suspect was further described as having short brown hair, a scruffy short beard, wearing a dark colored “Pendleton” type shirt with jeans.

The victim told police the suspect had a strong odor of alcohol and described him as a probable transient.

While being followed, the suspect tried to engage her in conversation asking her if she was okay.

After being followed for approximately 30 seconds the suspect grabbed for her school bag and attempted to pull it away. The bag was draped over her shoulder.

The victim said she was able to hold on to the bag and ran to her residence. This victim received minor injuries as a result of the attack.
