Man Found Dead Inside Home

Homicide detectives from the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Department are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding a man found dead inside his home on Saturday, October 27, in a rural area of Sacramento County, according to an official press release.

The victim, a 60 year-old male identified as Kelly Dale McClurg, was reportedly discovered inside his residence by an acquaintance who arrived at the house, and the exact cause of death is unknown at this time.

At approximately 9:00 pm on October 27, Sheriff’s deputies reportedly responded to a property located at Dillard Road and Highway 99 in response to the call of a man found dead. Upon arrival, a man and woman at the scene advised deputies that they had found the victim, an acquaintance of theirs, when they arrived at the home. Deputies reportedly entered the residence and located the victim, who had significant trauma to his upper body, later identified as consistent with a gunshot wound. Paramedics responding to the scene declared the victim deceased.

The man and woman at the scene were reportedly detained for questioning, but neither is considered a suspect at this time.
