Burglary Suspect Fails at “Clean” Getaway

A female burglary suspect is in custody today, Tuesday, September 25, after the owner of a residence she was attempting to steal from caught her in his shower, according to an official Sacramento County Sheriff Department press release.

Shortly after 12:30pm, Sheriff’s deputies reportedly responded to the 3711 block of Park Road regarding a burglary in progress. The caller stated he had returned home to find a woman, Jennifer Burgess, 24, coming out of his shower. The resident directed Burgess to put her clothes on and detained her while awaing deputies’ response.

Upon their arrival, Sheriff’s deputies reportedly contacted the victim outside his home and spoke with Burgess. She was detained without incident and deputies found her to be in possession of property belonging to the homeowner.

Burgess was booked into the Sacramento County Main Jail on a charge of burglary and is being held on $50,000 bail.
