Two Stabbings in Three Days

REDDING – On Saturday night at the American Motel, the Redding Police Department responded to a call of a stabbing.  Once there, they could not locate a victim.  However, provided by witnesses with a physical description, they shortly thereafter found Timothy Cox, 35, at the intersection of Tehama and East Streets.

485 Twin View Blvd.

Cox was taken by ambulance to Mercy Hospital with stab wounds to his upper body, chest, back and hand. Interviews with Cox led to the arrest of James Anderson, 32. Anderson apparently stabbed Cox numerous times after an altercation concerning his interaction with Cox’s girlfriend.
Police subsequently learned that Anderson is a sex registrant on active parole and wearing an ankle bracelet with a GPS device.  He was arrested and booked into Shasta County jail on a charge of attempted homicide.  Cox required surgery and is expected to recover.
Then, early Monday morning, Redding Police officers responded to a reported stabbing at 485 Twin View Boulevard.  At the scene they found Micheal Richlin, 43, sitting in a chair outside, bleeding profusely and unable to speak.  Nearby, his 28 year-old-brother Joshua Good stood holding a knife.
Good was arrested and provided a detailed statement about the argument that had started earlier in the morning that resulted in the stabbing.  He was charged with attempted murder.  Richlin was treated for multiple stab wounds and is currently listed in critical condition.
