According to SLOPD, officers responded to a traffic accident involving a vehicle colliding into a mobile home about 1:17 a.m. on Sunday. Police say the vehicle penetrated the wall and totally entered the mobile home coming to rest in the living room.

According to SLOPD, the investigation revealed the suspect, Phillip Garcia, 27, of Los Osos, was driving his vehicle westbound on Tank Farm Road at a high rate of speed. He apparently attempted to turn southbound on South Higuera Street and lost control, colliding into the mobile home. Garcia, who had to be extracted from his vehicle, sustained minor injuries while the two homeowners were uninjured in the collision.

Garcia could not negotiate this turn, and collided with the mobile home across the street

According to SLOPD, during the subsequent investigation Garcia was found to be intoxicated and was arrested for a misdemeanor charge of driving under the influence of alcohol and reckless driving. Garcia was transported and booked at the San Luis Obispo County Jail.
