According to the Vallejo Times Herald, at about 1:25 a.m., a 57-year-old Newark woman was traveling on Interstate 80 from a party she left in Vallejo, said Richmond Police.

The woman heard a popping sound and discovered that she had blood on her throat while driving west on the I-80 near the Hilltop Drive exit, Richmond police Sgt. Roger Buhlis said. The woman, whose name was not released by police, survived the shooting. She is in stable condition.
