Gang members charged with murder at cemetery in Tulare County

On Tuesday, May 29, at 4 p.m. the Tulare Sheriff’s Department Violent Crime Unit contacted Oracio Adame, 18 years old, from Orosi, at Kaweah Delta Hospital where he had been admitted on May 9 with a gunshot wound to the upper body. Detectives arrested Adame there without incident on suspicion of murdering Huber Barron of Dinuba on May 6 at the Smith Mountain Cemetery, Road 100 North of Avenue 416.

Adame was released from Kaweah Hospital and booked at the Main jail on May 30 on charges of murder, participation in a gang crime and use of a firearm during the commission of a serious crime.

On June 1, detectives from the Tulare County Sheriff’s Department Violent Crimes Unit, with assistance from the Fresno County Sheriff’s Department SWAT team, served a search warrant in the 100 block of S. Hills Valley in Orange Cove and arrested Nicholas Salazar, 22, for the same crimes in relation to the murder of Barron.

Adame and Salazar are suspects in the murder of Huber Barron at Smith Mountain Cemetery

During the search a .22 caliber semiautomatic pistol was found and Salazar was also booked for additional charges of being a felon in possession of a weapon. Both subjects are documented Sureno gang members, Sheriffs said.
