Vacaville police investigate early morning Saturday shooting

Vacaville police are investigating reports of gunshots being fired early Saturday morning.

According to a press release the police department’s Communications Center received several calls at around 12:30 a.m. that gunshots were heard near Rocky Hill Road and Meadows Drive. One caller reported hearing at least 10 gunshots in the area.

When police arrived in the area, they spoke with several people who stated they had witnessed an altercation involving a pedestrian and passengers in a green compact sedan. Witnesses also saw one of the passengers shooting a firearm out the window of the sedan and up in the air. Officers at the scene found two expended shell casings on the 100 block of Meadow Drive.

According to the press release, police had not identified all parties involved in the incident as of Saturday.
