Fairfield police investigate shooting in Chuck E. Cheese parking lot

Fairfield Police are investigating a shooting that occurred Thursday afternoon in the parking lot of Chuck E. Cheese on Oliver Road.

According to the Daily Republic, a man was shot twice after allegedly attempting to sell marijuana in the parking lot at around 2:30 p.m. The man was also carjacked by the would-be buyers. The man, who was from Redding, met the buyers through a Craigslist post and agreed to meet them in the parking lot because it was close to the freeway.

According to the Daily Republic, it is unknown if the deal was completed or if there was another reason for the robbery. The victim went to a nearby gas station where he was found to be suffering from a gunshot wound to the chest that was considered life-threatening.

The stolen vehicle is a late-1990s white Chevy Camaro. The vehicle was last seen heading westbound on Oliver Road toward a ramp to the Interstate 80 freeway. Witnesses describe the suspects as two black men, one of which had a tattoo on his face. Surveillance cameras show the camaro may have a black top.
