Traffic stop yields guns, marijuana and prescription drugs

Alameda resident Cristian Fernando Quintero, 22, was arrested on March 11 around 11pm in the 1600 block of Walnut Street. Police officers noticed Mr. Quintero while he was driving and approached him once he parked and exited his vehicle.

The police report did not note what about Quintero’s behavior evoked officer suspicion, but after making contact with Quintero, officers found that he was not a licensed driver.

According to the police report, officers then searched Quintero’s vehicle where they found a white powdery substance suspected to be cocaine in addition to a loaded concealed firearm that contained an extended 22 round magazine. Quintero was not the gun’s registered owner.

A bottle full of hydrocodone pills and baggies of suspected green leafy marijuana were also found on the vehicle.

Quintero was charged with 10 drug, traffic, and weapons related charges.
