Robbery victim crashes into house

ANTIOCH – A driver lost control of his vehicle and crashed into a home located on St. Francis Drive at Contra Loma Boulevard and Linden Lane. The Durango hit a wooden fence and struck the rear of the residence on Linden Lane where the vehicle eventually slowed down and stopped inside of the bedroom. Four other cars were involved in the accident.

“One of the four vehicles that were struck on Spanos Street was occupied,” Sergeant M. Schwitters stated in a press release. “The driver had to be extricated from that vehicle andwas transported to an area hospital for treatment of minor injuries.”

The residents were home but not in the bedroom where the vehicle ended up and no injuries were reported at the time of the crash.

The driver of the Dodge Durango fled the scene before police arrived.

“During the investigating of the accident, Antioch Police received a call from the owner of the Durango, advising that he had been robbed at gunpoint on Contra Loma Boulevard,” Schwitters stated. “The victim of the robbery was not injured.”

Antioch Police are still investigating and interviewing witnesses at the time of this press release.
