Vallejo police search for suspect in robbery of Radio Shack

Vallejo police are in search of a suspect in connection with one of two armed robberies that occurred Tuesday night.

The first robbery was reported at about 7 p.m. when a man carrying a knife entered the Quiero Mas Mexican restaurant located in the 1400 block of Tennessee Street, according to the Vallejo Times Herald.

The store clerk told the man that she was busy helping other customers and that he would have to wait. At that time the man put the knife in his jacket and left the restaurant, according to Vallejo Times Herald.

The restaurant manager called police to report the robbery while it was in progress and informed them the suspect was walking down Tennessee Street.

When police caught up with 25-year-old John Hansen, a transient, he was still carrying the knife. Police arrested him on suspicion of armed robbery.

The second robbery occurred about an hour later at Radio Shack at 3325 Sonoma Boulevard when a suspect entered the store with a handgun and left with an undisclosed amount of money from the register.

According to Vallejo Times Herald, the suspect is described as a black man of about 5 foot 5 inches tall and 145 pounds. He is said to have been wearing black and white shoes, dark pants, a gray sweatshirt and a black beanie.

The suspect was last seen fleeing from the shopping center. No injuries were reported from the incident.
