Vallejo man arrested after two hour standoff

Police arrested a 22-year-old Vallejo man Wednesday night after he barricaded himself inside his house for several hours. The man allegedly made threats to shoot his wife and children, Sgt, Jeff Bassett said.

The man gave himself up on the 100 block of Farragut Street at 10 p.m. without incident and no one was hurt.

At about 6 p.m., the man’s wife went to the police station and reported that on October 31, her husband had allegedly beat her, Bassett said. The woman, 24, was reported to be uncooperative in reporting the domestic violence, but police the report to the Solano District Attorney’s office, Bassett said.

The woman called the police two hours later, stating her husband allegedly threatened to kill her and their children when she got home, Bassett said.

Police surrounded the home and negotiators spoke with the man for two hours, urging him to come out. Once he emerged, Jonathan Allen was taken into custody on suspicion of making felony threats and for assault with a deadly weapon. A hand gun and inoperable rifle were also retrieved from the house, Bassett said.
