Fast arrest for fast food robber

ELK GROVE — A masked man with a handgun robbed a local Wendy’s restaurant of cash Friday morning and found himself behind bars hours later.

Police responded to 9000 block of Harbour Point Drive around 9:30 a.m. Friday, after a male suspect in a black mask and dark clothing stuck a gun in a cashier’s face and left the fast food establishment, heading north with an undisclosed amount of money.

An Elk Grove motorcycle officer spotted an individual matching the description of the suspect walking on Longport Court just west of Harbour Point Drive. Additional officers responded and assisted in detaining 25-year-old Sacramento resident George Henderson, who was found to be in possession of a loaded firearm and currency believed to have been taken in the robbery. He was also wearing the blue sweatshirt and black pants that witnesses described.
