Arrest warrants re-issued for Quaid, wife

SANTA BARBARA — Actor Randy Quaid and his wife Evi are once again wanted by California authorities, after missing two scheduled court appearances last week.

The couple had been set to appear before a Santa Barbara County judge on charges that they failed to pay a $10,000 hotel bill at the San Ysidro Ranch last summer. The couple’s no-show prompted the judge to issue a bench warrant for their arrest, which will be broadcast to law enforcement agencies nationwide.

This wasn’t the first time the couple missed their day in court. Prior to pleading not guilty to the charges in December, the Quaids failed to show for a scheduled court appearance at least once and were forced to shell out an additional $40,000 for the bail bond.

Last week’s no-show likely means their $40,000 bail will be forfeited.

Quaid is perhaps best known for his role as “Eddie” in National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation.
