Transit administrator racks up tickets

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE — South Lake Tahoe’s BlueGo transit administrator has racked up several vehicle code violations and at least one more serious charge, yet still sits at the helm.

According to El Dorado County arrest records, John Andoh, 29, has several driving citations including driving on a highway without a valid driver’s license. On July 1, Aug. 21 and Oct. 1, Andoh was cited for speeding and, on March 12, with driving without a valid license.

On Oct. 24, he was reportedly arrested by Sacramento police for battery of a spouse, cohabitant or former spouse, according to records.

Back in September, Andoh was allegedly trying to make a right turn from C Street onto Emerald Bay Road in South Lake Tahoe and was involved in a collision with a 58-year-old South Lake Tahoe man riding a bicycle south on Emerald Bay Road.

Although police determined the bicyclist was primarily at fault in the crash, Andoh denied the bicyclist made contact with the gray 2009 Jeep Wrangler Andoh was driving at the time, officials said.

Andoh told the Tahoe Daily Tribune he spotted the bicyclist riding erratically.

“The next thing I know, he hits my Jeep,” he said, according to the Tribune article. “I was saying (to police), he hit me.”
