Man kills wife in year’s second Visalia homicide

VISALIA — A 41-year-old Visalia man was arrested Monday night in the alleged shooting death of his 38-year-old wife during a dispute at their home, police said.

Emee Saesee lay bleeding from a gunshot wound in the couple’s home at 1039 W. Clinton Ave. in Visalia, as family members restrained Aibung Saesee outside until police arrived at 11:39 p.m., said Visalia police Sgt. Steven Phillips.

Emee Saesee was taken by ambulance to Kaweah Delta Medical Center where she was pronounced dead as a result of the gunshot. Aibung Saesee was also taken to the hospital for treatment of injuries he received while being held by family members, police said. Saesee was later released to police and booked into Tulare County Jail on suspicion of the murder of his wife.

Officers were called to the north Visalia home earlier in the evening on a report of domestic violence but made no arrests because they saw no evidence to support a charge. Much later, Aibung Saesee, who had been drinking, emerged from a room in the house with a shotgun and fired it at his wife, family members said in a police report.

The home has been visited frequently by police in recent years with as many as 30 calls for service, said Phillips, though most of those calls involved juveniles in the home. The couple has five children.

Emee Saesee was the second murder in Visalia since Jan. 1. Ralph Burciaga Jr. was found shot to death on the 1400 block of N. Tipton St. in Visalia New Year’s Day. The case is still under investigation, Phillips said. Police have not identified any suspects.
