Molestation alleged in Montecito

MONTECITO — Santa Barbara sheriff’s deputies arrested Montecito resident Jeffrey Quenton Johnson at his home on West Mountain Drive on suspicion of multiple incidents of child molestation earlier this month.

Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Department Public Information Officer Drew Sugars revealed that. Johnson was apprehended Dec. 5 in the exclusive neighborhood up in the Santa Barbara foothills without incident following an investigation into multiple sexual contacts with two neighboring pre-teen female siblings.

After initial reports by relatives of the victims, investigators’ research indicated that Johnson had been having illicit contact with the young sisters over a period of at least three years.

Booked into Santa Barbara County Jail on multiple felony charges of sexual abuse upon children, the 58-year-old Johnson is being held on $500,000 bail.

Department spokesman Drew Sugars said no futher information would be released due to the ages of the victims.
