CARLSBAD — A four-car collision trapped one person inside an overturned vehicle Monday morning.
The accident occurred in the intersection of El Camino Real and College Boulevard, where a preliminary investigation revealed the driver of one of the involved vehicles blew past a red light and collided with another vehicle. Both cars then lost control, spinning into two other vehicles located at the scene.
The collision stopped southbound traffic on El Camino Real and slowed traffic in all directions for approximately two hours.
Carlsbad police and fire personnel responded to the scene of the wreck.
The driver of the vehicle that ran the red light was taken by helicopter to an area hospital with unspecified injuries.
