Arrest made in jail shooting

SACRAMENTO — Sacramento police on Monday made in an arrest in connection to a shooting that occurred at the Sacramento County Jail last month.

Details of the investigation were minimal, including where the shooting specifically took place and whether there was a victim.

What facts the police did release included that the shooting took place Aug. 16 at approximately 10:35 p.m. Investigators from both the Sacramento Police Department and Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office began concurrent investigations, getting search warrants for various locations throughout Sacramento. According to a department release, the searches yielded additional information providing the probable cause to arrest 20-year-old Jackie Phoulivanh in connection with the shooting.

The investigation remains ongoing.
