HESPERIA – The San Bernardino County Sheriff is calling 12-year-old  a “critical missing person.”
Unhappy, perhaps, about her family’s decision to move to the high desert area that includes Hesperia, Victorville and Apple Valley, her parents reported  missing late Monday night, said Cindy Beavers, a spokesman with the county sheriff’s department. “She went outside to look at the cat,” said Beavers, “and then she was gone and they have not seen the cat, either.”
Last seen wearing jeans, yellow tank top, along with red and green heart earrings, Leandra is 5-foot-3, 95 pounds with brown hair and brown eyes. She lived with her family on the 8200 block of C Avenue. Sheriff’s detectives and various volunteer units have passed out fliers.
The family moved to Hesperia from out of state. Beavers said, “She wasn’t very happy about the move.”
Police units were hoping anyone that had seen her call sheriff’s Detective Glenn Mellor at (760) 947-1536 or sheriff’s dispatch at (760) 245-4211 or (760) 947-1500
