Woman Stabs Sister in Face

Woodland, Calif — (April 22) — A family dispute Tuesday night left a woman with a stab wound to her face and her sister in jail facing felony assault charges.

Reports of a family argument brought Woodland police officers to a home in the 1700 block of El Paseo Drive shortly before 8 p.m., according to Lt. Charlie Wilts. They arrived to find a 38-year-old woman with a non-life-threatening stab wound to her forehead.

Also at the scene was the victim’s sister, Sacramento resident Cynthia Antti, 36, who was arrested on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon, Wilts said. Police believe Antti stabbed her sister with a steak knife during the dispute.

“It was an argument over the victim’s lifestyle,” Wilts said, though he declined to elaborate.

The stabbing victim was treated at the scene by paramedics for the minor stab wound and released, Wilts said.

Antti, of 5521 D St. in Sacramento, was lodged at the Yolo County Jail.
