Stabbing suspect arrested

Nevada County Sheriff’s deputies arrested 19-year-old man in North San Juan early Thursday (Feb. 19) morning after several reports of his alleged suspicious activity.

As investigators tried to sort out the story, a report from a nearby hospital provided more information on the case.

According to a department press release, David P. Bledsoe was taken into custody around 1 a.m. on Tyler Foote Road near Sages Road after several complaints were received about him.

The release said that Bledsoe appeared to be under the influence of either alcohol or drugs and as he was being processed a nurse from Sierra Nevada Memorial Hospital in near Grass Valley reported they had a female stabbing victim being treated in the emergency room.

After it was learned that the victim reported having the same last name as Bledsoe, nd gave the same home address, Bledsoe was then booked on suspiction of attempted murder and is being held at the Wayne Brown Jail without bail.

Reached late Thursday morning, a department spokeswoman said the Sheriff’s Major Crime Unit remains at the residence doing further investigation. The department declined to provide the address of the residence, toher than to say it was locted in North San Juan, north of Nevada City.
