Lockeford Shooting

Today at 2:15 pm, a man shot a woman in a strip mall parking lot before killing himself, San Joaquin County Sheriff’s deputies and witnesses reported.

The suspected shooter died at the scene among numerous stunned bystanders after turning the gun on himself. The woman was immediately taken to Lodi Memorial Hospital. Her condition is still unknown.

Investigators rushed to examine the afternoon incident, and deputies believe an argument between the man and woman escalated into gunfire.
